On October 4, the ACS editorial team visited Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Jakkur, Bangalore. We had an opportunity to meet with Prof. MRS Rao, President, Prof. CNR Rao, Director, and other researchers at the Institute. The team enjoyed the interactive Q&A session and lab visits with scientists. JNCASR has many focus areas, and is particularly strong in materials chemistry.
The following morning, we flew in to Delhi. In the afternoon, we visited Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi and met with researchers in the Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. We are indebted to Prof. A Ramanan, Head of the Department of Chemistry for inviting his colleagues to the interactive session in the afternoon.
In Delhi some of the editors got an opportunity to visit the Red Fort, while others saw the Qutub Minar – both popular historic monuments in the city and UNESCO world heritage sites.
